2020 RAM 1500 at Miller's Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM

Coming off a complete redesign last year, the RAM 1500 is back for the 2020 model year. The RAM 1500 continues to be our favorite pickup thanks to its excellent driving dynamics, gorgeous interior, and one of the best suspensions in the class. With this, RAM continues to dominate the competition by delivering a ride quality that is on par with a luxury sedan. Those who are looking for power will be pleased to know that the RAM 1500 boasts fantastic ratings for both towing and payload capacity. Under the hood, you get the familiar, but still strong, 3.6-liter V6 and the 5.7-liter V8. That being said, RAM still has a few tricks up its sleeve in the form of an eTorque system that provides better fuel economy. When you get inside the cabin, RAM wins again with its tremendous amount of technological features and options, as well as comfortable seats and high-quality materials. We love the RAM 1500! What engines are there to choose from?

The RAM 1500 comes with a few engine options, as well as a couple of bed options. Consumers can choose between a quad cab with a long bed or a crew cab with a long or short bed. Under the hood, most trims come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, which comes with the eTorque system for improved fuel economy. Optional is a 5.7-liter V8 with 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The V8 engine is standard on the Laramie, Long Horn, and Limited trims. Best of all, there is a new diesel engine which pumps out 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque that is also available at any trim level. All engines pair with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission and when fully equipped the RAM 1500 can tow up to 12,560 pounds.

What are some notable features on the 2020 RAM 1500?

Seven trim levels are available for the RAM 1500, and each comes standard with a ton of exciting features. The Tradesman comes with 18-inch steel wheels as well as some beautiful tech equipment such as a 5-inch touchscreen, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and push-button start. Also available is trailer sway damping and a six-speaker stereo. Moving up to the HFE provides you with a few upgrades such as 20-inch chrome wheels with low-rolling-resistance tires, side steps, a tonneau cover, a carpeted floor, and front bucket seats. At the midway point is the Big Horn, which adds to the massive list with 18-inch aluminum wheels and foglights as well as a ton of options including an 8.4-inch or 12-inch touchscreen which comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Want something more off-road? The Rebel comes with more aggressive styling as well as an electronic locking rear axle and four skid plates. RAM takes a turn into luxury with the Laramie trim, which comes with leather-trimmed front seats that are heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable. Next level up the Longhorn, which adds standard premium-leather bucket seats, a leather-wrapped wood steering wheel, and a spray-in bedliner, while the Limited adds shiny chrome trim and standard four-corner air suspension.

What are some of the safety features?

In 2019, the RAM 1500 was named the top safety pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, so you know your truck will come fully stocked with all of the best equipment. Standard on all trims is a blind spot monitoring system with rear cross-path and trailer detection, which scans your blind spots zones and behind the vehicle to keep you safe while maneuvering. The system even accounts for the size of the trailer. Available is a lane departure warning system that helps prevent unintentional lane drifts by providing you with visual and audio cues and can even guide the RAM back into the lane. Also available is an adaptive cruise control system with stop and go, which helps keeps your speed under control and can apply the brakes if you get too close to another vehicle.
